Lucretius and Botticelli by the Florence Session Two Latin Class

As Latin students of Calder Classics, we translated the opening of Lucretius’ De Rerum Natura, which is believed to have inspired Botticelli’s Primavera and The Birth of Venus. This experience gave us the insight to further understand and appreciate these masterpieces and their sub-contexts.
