This past Friday, the Florence group took a day trip to Siena, where we practiced our Latin and got to see the beautiful sites the city has to offer. After a bus drive through the hilly Tuscan countryside, we started off the day in the Town Hall. Meg explained the the symbols and significance of the frescoes. In addition, we looked at the frescoes of "good government" and "bad government", and students translated the Latin writing on the walls.
Afterwards, we visited the Duomo, and students were able to translate the quotes of the Sybils, which were etched into the floor.
