We've all read about the hubbub surrounding "the dress": Is it white and gold, or blue and black?
As it turns out, color identification is a rather ancient conundrum. Some scholars have argued that blue was the last color to be identified by most human cultures and that it wasn't even recognized by the ancients. The cool hue appears a whopping zero times in Homer's Odyssey and is also lacking in Icelandic sagas, the Koran, ancient Chinese stories, and an ancient Hebrew version of the Bible. Read more here.
