Kat Misko earned her B.A. in English with a minor in Film and Spanish from Boston College and earned her M.F.A. in Writing from Sarah Lawrence College. As a three-time Emmy Award-winning (nine-time nominee) writer, producer and director for major networks such as NBC, ABC, and USA, she has extensive experience in telling compelling stories for the screen. She teaches an interdisciplinary writing and film course at Marymount Manhattan College, which focuses on the art of adaptation and how to utilize classic narrative tools in media. She has taught writing, reading, and literature to underserved NYC youth, served as a reader for One Story magazine, and is currently at work on her first novel. In her spare time, she does art and design work with her husband. She has lived abroad in France and Spain, studying at Parsons Paris and La Universidad Autónoma, and has attended prestigious writing workshops, such as the Tin House and Sirenland Writers Conferences. A mother of two young kids, she lives in New York.
