Latin AP Prep: Reading Caesar and Vergil

This 8-week upper-level online Latin course is an intensive preparation for the Latin AP in which students will read excerpts from Caesar’s Gallic War and Vergil’s Aeneid. Given that both Caesar and Vergil present stylized characters and events that reflect Roman preoccupations and values, we will also talk and read about Roman notions of the self and identity and ways that Romans would perform and reaffirm their social identity and status through their habits, dress, gestures, and more.

Offered March 12, 2023 - April 30, 2023 (8 consecutive Sundays).

  • Students may choose to attend all 8 weeks of Caesar and Vergil readings, OR

  • Students may choose to attend only 4 weeks of Caesar readings (March 12 - April 2) OR only 4 weeks of Vergil readings (April 9 - April 30) on 4 consecutive Sundays.

Sessions take place every Sunday from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm (EDT).

Course Fee: $1200 - all 8 weeks of Caesar and Vergil or $700 - 4 weeks of either Caesar or Vergil.
