Summer 2021 Online Programs
As of June 30, 2021, we are currently enrolling students for the following Summer 2021 Online Calder Classics programs:
Introduction to Latin for beginners. We create individual and small group sessions based on demand. To learn more, please CONTACT US.
Introduction to Reading Latin, Intermediate Level, for students entering grades 8-12 who have studied Latin for 1-2 years but require more core vocabulary and grammar in order to proficiently read unadapted Latin texts. Students review and learn many new core words and rules of Latin syntax while diving into the works of Vergil, Ovid, Cicero, and more. July 5-16, Monday - Friday, 8 - 10:30am EDT. Course Fee: $1200.
Reading Latin + Art and Ancient History, Upper Level, for students entering grades 9-12 with at least one year of reading original (or slightly adapted) Latin texts. Course Fee: $1200.
"Roman Social Rituals: Eating and Drinking” July 5-16, Mon-Fri, 2 sessions per day, 10:30am - 1pm and 2 - 4pm EDT.
"Roman Voices” July 19-30, Mon-Fri, 2 sessions per day, 10:30am - 1pm and 2 - 4pm EDT. [Please CONTACT US to learn about an IN-PERSON option for this course!]
"Journeys to the Underworld: Aeneid 6 and Odyssey 11” July 31-August 8, meets daily (including Saturday and Sunday), 2 sessions per day, 10:30am - 1pm and 2 - 4pm EDT.
Introduction to Ancient Greek for Middle School, High School, Gap Year, and College/Grad students with no (or minimal) prior experience in Ancient Greek. A diagnostic test is provided for proper placement. If you are interested in learning Ancient Greek, please carefully review the offered courses as we have multiple levels and offering times. Intensive Program: Levels 1 and 2 combined. Scheduled to accommodate students in ASIAN TIME ZONES: Meets twice per day, Monday - Friday, 1pm - 3:30pm and 6pm - 8pm CST (China Standard Time).
