Spring Break 2021
Spring Break 2021. Reading Latin & Discovering the Ancient History and Art History of Italy
Who: Students entering 9th through 12th grades with at least one year reading original (or slightly adapted) Latin texts
What: Review Latin grammar and read the great authors of Latin literature while also exploring the historical and cultural treasures of ancient and Renaissance Italy.
When: March 22 - 26, 2021. Meets daily 10 am - 12:30 pm and 2 - 4 :15 pm
Spring Break 2021. Introduction to Ancient Greek
Who: Middle School, High School, Gap Year, and College/Grad students with NO PRIOR EXPERIENCE in Ancient Greek
What: Learn the basics of Ancient Greek Language
When: March 20, 21, 27, 28. Meets Saturdays and Sundays 10am - 1pm
Summer 2021:
Introduction to Ancient Greek Level 2
Who: Middle School, High School, Gap Year, and College/Grad students with SOME PRIOR EXPERIENCE in Ancient Greek
What: Learn the basics of Ancient Greek Language at an Advanced Beginner level
When: Tuesday evenings, February - March 2021
Reading Ancient Greek
Who: High School, Gap Year, and College/Grad students with Intermediate-level ability to read Ancient Greek
What: Reading and textual analysis of Ancient Greek texts
When: Wednesday evenings, February - March 2021
Reading Latin: Vergil, Caesar, and Livy + AP Prep
Who: High School students with at least 1 year of reading original Latin Texts
What: Intensive preparation for the Latin AP
When: Saturdays in January-February 2021
Reading Latin: Catullus, Horace, Ovid, and Petronius + Roman Culture
Who: High School, Gap Year, and College/Grad students with at least 1 year of reading original Latin tests
What: “Eating, Drinking, and Touring in Ancient Rome”. Advanced Latin readings on the themes of Roman feasts, art, and culture
When: Saturdays and Sundays in January-February 2021
Creative Writing Workshop
Who: High School, Gap Year, and College/Grad students with an interest in reading classical texts in translation as inspiration for drafting their own works.
What: Writing workshop with individual and group feedback culminating in a virtual reading of polished final work.
When: Wednesdays for six consecutive weeks in February-March 2021
